Yes they are
Obviously not
Called them. They close October 31st for the winter season.
Yes frozen ones
Mm mm can't wait
They have it posted on their door Nov 3, is their last day.
I am not sure , but probably has.
As a lactose intolerant individual, I have found that their frozen yogurt does not upset my stomach. It's not a dairy free option, but it's something =D
Yes they do
I have a nut allergy. And I talked to staff about peanut issues and their products just a couple of weeks ago. They are not entirely peanut free as a business. But, there are peanut free options including icecream sandwiches, cones, soft serve icecream, dipped cones, etc. I think some of their cakes are peanut free too. Basically, those with nut allergies have to stay clear from the hard ice creams. But there are many more peanut free options than what they had a few of years ago.
A treat from heaven! This summarizes the place adequately 😬The only con is that they just deal in cash and no cards. I’d recommend their French vanilla and Strawberry & Cream. The combination is out of this world 😁Tried the pistachio flavour too but it had a lot of pistachios that didn’t let me enjoy the ice cream so I wouldn’t recommend that
Love this place for icecream with the fam!
Best ice cream in Winnipeg. Highly recommend the Peanut butter chocolate flake flurry - ask for it mixed twice, just to be sure you don't get clumpy toppings. Oreo flurry is a close second.
Great prices and they take debit now
Great ice cream flavours. Love the rum and butter milkshake. A must try and you can ask them to rum it up!
Okay ice cream.. long line.. no social distancing from other customers which should have been enforced by them.. only accepts cash too..
Best place for ice cream. In my opinion......
Line ups can sometimes be long but they move really quickly and their ice cream is definitely worth the wait!
Delicious ice cream right across from Assiniboine park . A St James staple on Portage Avenue!!
Delicious! A Winnipeg institution, especially on a hot summer day.
St. James staple and reasonably priced!
One of the best ice cream places in Winnipeg. It's also right across from Assiniboine Park where there are lots of beautiful walking paths. This place only accepts cash and lines are usually long, but its worth the wait!
It was good and the people stated 6ft aprt😁😁
Great ice cream and nice staff. They are cash only though!
What kind of store in 2020 doesn't except credit card? You can drive six hours outside of the city to any convenience store in the middle of no where and they will accept credit card. The owner runs a VERY successful business but doesn't want to pay the 1.5-2% transaction fee to allow for credit cards. Oh but I'm sure he takes the money he saves from the fees to pay his employees extra money to risk their lives at an ice cream shop in the middle of a pandemic, right? The greed is real.....
I heard the best icecream of my life. Its the best ☻
Took 45 minutes to get to the counter which is still fine. Ordered butterscotch Sunday but received vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce
I've been to Sargent Sundae countless times. It's one of the main ice cream staples in Winnipeg in the summer and super close to a main entrance to Assiniboine Park. The are sensitive and accommodating to those with tree nut and peanut allegies. They have pre-packaged ice cream products that are completely nut-free, as well as soft ice cream and dipping options (e.g., chocolate) ... and ice cream cakes that are nut-free safe options as well. In the fall, Sargent Sundae has pumpkin flavoured soft serve ice cream (made with actual pumpkin puree) which you can eat in-store or buy containers of it to take home. It's super good. There is free parking behind the store and ample outside seating. Occasionally, there has been live music outside during the summer months.
I like the icecream it's so yummy
Very generous servings. Nice entertainment while we waited and very organized service
Have a great visit with this ice cream place got awesome service always keep up with the good work always ❤️
Good setup for social distancing. They'd provided a line snaking around the building for people to queue appropriately. Despite being a fairly long line it went quite quickly so don't get put off by a long line. The official menu was limited but I ordered off menu without a problem, but don't expect it if it's a busy day.
The place was busy but the service was good and quick. My banana split was awesome.
Good place, open till 11pm daily. Be mindful that they only accept cash.
I took my sister here before we went to the zoo and its definitely worth the miney. They give a lot so I just got one knowing I'd never finish one on my own. Highly recommend.
Fantastic ice cream and service for years and years, but my recent experience makes me wonder how crowds of people around the building is following the covid policies...
Local business. Super friendly staff and owner. And of course, creamier ice cream!
I tried chocolate fudge brownie and peanut butter chocolate ice cream on waffle cone. Both are awesome and tasty. I like the cone as well. It’s very crispy. They have good outdoor sitting. You can enjoy with your friends and family. They are usually very busy in evenings and nights but it’s absolutley worth to wait in line and enjoy the ice cream. Great experience.
Nice place close to a park just had a huge line up
Nice place to sit and have an icecream, nice out door sitting area, can be busy at times with long lines, close to local attractions, fantastic selection of tasty treats
Tasty as always. Now for COVID-19 situation, you can order from the door only, and pickup from the window. No entry into the store.
Always a perfect choice for a nice scoop of ice cream. Be it hard or soft serve, they have most any flavour one could want. Milkshakes, ice cream bars and other various treats abound. Enjoy it while the summer lasts. Just make sure to expect a wait in line as I'm not the only fan of this place, as you'll soon see.
The lone up is always so long but I guess the treat is worth the wait
Their new set up for social distancing is wonderful and easy to use
Despite guidelines for non-essential services to be closed, an ice cream shop...of all places... stays open during this pandemic. The owners and patrons to this establishment should be ashamed of themselves for putting the safety of others at risk.Several times I have seen customers crowding and lining up to get into the store...Really? For ice cream? It’s shocking and to be honest, when you think of the sacrifices of others, just completely selfish. Will never return to this establishment and after speaking with several others they will not be either.
Kids love this place so much! They got fantastic ice cream. Although, sometimes the place can be too crowded.
We normally really enjoy the ice cream here. This past Saturday, we decided to "splurge" on a banana split. There was one piece of banana, minimal ice cream and toppings and a whole lot of whipped cream. It was definitely not what we were expecting from this shop.
Always good for a quick treat when at Assiniboine Park with the kids. The new measures they have taken work great and the like moves smoothly. We love it. Wouldn't be summer without a trip.
Beat ice cream in Winnipeg! The Skor Flurry is amazing! I can’t wait for the pumpkin pie soft serve!
Awsome place to get ice cream and shakes but long lineups
Absolutely no social distancing in place at all.Very unorganized and inexperienced staff
Slight addiction 😉😋🍦..what is not to love?! Very creamy ice cream, never had a bad experience. The line can be long especially in the evenings...always worth the wait! 👍🏻
All kinds of ice cream. Soft and hard.
This place is a institution of Winnipeg. Although the line up is usually long it is worth any wait. Tried the malt from there last night for the first time and was not disappointed. If your visiting Winnipeg checking out Assiniboine park and walking across the bridge to Sargent sundae is a must.
Good shakes. Expect a big line, especially now during covid. Bring cash or debit, they don't take credit.
Went to assiniboine park for the evening for a nice walk with the kids. Decided to cross the bridge and go to Sargent Sundae for the first time. I knew it was going to be good because the line up extended outside. Once we finally ordered, I got 2 scoops of lemon lime sherbert, my wife got the birthday cake ice cream and my son got the rainbow ice cream. I of course tried all three and they were all delicious. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The cost was also pretty reasonable. Will definitely be back.
Fun to stop by before going to the Assiniboine Park, wish they have more their own store-made unique ice cream.
Been here many times prior to Covid, upon returning they have done a great job making it so you can still get ice cream. Still too long of a wait for average ice cream
Great selection, this is the place to be if your in Winnipeg looking for a treat (ice cream). Enjoy. Nice little place to sit outside next door.
